I have been struggling with my menstrual cycle for the past 6 months. I was a regular 4 week girl and for some or various reasons my cycle shortened to 3 weeks. I was told by a number of practitioners, including a medical doctor, that it was due to my liver not functioning properly - not being able to clear the hormone buildup efficiently etc. I went on liver tonic herbs, cleansing drinks and teas. Nothing much changed - I was still having a period every 3 weeks.
