JASON was developed in California, 50 years ago by master lab technician Jeffrey Light. Jeffrey has a background in organic foods and a passion for an ethical, natural way of life. The first products developed by JASON utilised Jeffrey’s experience in the produce business – using high quality avocado oils to make luxurious beauty products. At the time, there was very little understanding of the term ‘Organic’ and ingredients such as Mineral Oil, Petroleum and artificial colours were common-place in ‘natural’ products.

When JASON was founded the only employees were Jeffrey and one woman holding the role of secretary, book-keeper and assistant – and the entire company ran out of a 1,000 square foot factory. Today JASON employs over 500 people in a factory that is over 200,000 square feet, and is a household name around the world. What a delight to see how far we’ve come!

As many of you will know, JASON’s range of products have grown from soaps, scrubs, lotions and gels in the early years to advanced oral care, the popular Ester C anti-ageing range, salon-quality hair care, the award winning Sunbrella’s SPF range, a brilliant baby range and much more. In fact, this scrub was Jason’s very first product! As we continue to research new and exciting organic ingredients and sustainable practices, the JASON family continues to grow.

Over the course of it’s 50 years, JASON has been the recipient of countless awards and commendations from top governing authorities in the Organic world. In response to JASON’s unwavering commitment to create Vegan, cruelty-free products, in 2007 PETA named JASON the best cruelty-free personal care range, claiming that ‘JASON is a friend of PETA’s for life’. JASON has received prestigious awards from consumer and trade titles Lifescape, Natural Health, Natural Products and many more for the outstanding performance of our products, and has been endorsed by celebrity fans all over the world. It’s not only the products getting attention at JASON however; our manufacturing practices are hailed by the Soil Association and the ISO as being amongst the most transparent in the industry, ensuring that our consumers know exactly what they’re taking home.
